Annex Carmel announces new WINEMAKER RESIDENCY program

NEW – Annex Carmel shares part of their wine experience turning the bar into a Co-Op with a new WINEMAKER RESIDENCY program.
We are thrilled to announce a new WINEMAKER RESIDENCY program launching March 1, 2020.
The Annex Carmel has been open for a short 9 months and as the bar continues to transform and morph into it’s unique wine experience, owner, Ashleigh Hutchison, realized there are a lot of great winemakers out there without a “home”. Tasting Rooms can be a very expensive business to run in addition on to making wine and touring vineyards – leaving fabulous artists’ to hand sell their wines in wholesale and DTC through their own clientele building a customer base through friends and family.
The Annex is thrilled to announce the 3 month residency in which these winemakers will have the
opportunity to have a “tasting room” to send their customers to taste, sip, swirl and purchase bottles at
full retail value.
The first two residents are local acclaimed winemaker SAMUEL LOUIS SMITH – head winemaker at
MORGAN Vineyards. We will feature four of his wines from Santa Cruz Mountains and Monterey
appellations.
And newcomer to the area – BRANDEN HAMBY – of HAMBY CELLARS – with amazing Chardonnay,
Pinot Noirs and Syrah from Sonoma and Russian River.
Two very talented young men will showcase their wines with us. Both winemakers will offer a FOUR
wine flight for a $20 tasting fee or happily waived with a 2 bottle purchase.
The Annex Carmel is open daily at NOON located in the Crossroads Shopping Center in Carmel.
The BOHEMIAN vibe of The Annex is a fresh, innovative and creative approach to ‘wine story-telling’
with our customers. The Annex is a full service wine bar featuring an international selection of wines,
craft beers and small bites catering to the evolution of generational wine drinkers.
