MOMIX: Alice

Fall down the rabbit hole MOMIX-style with Creative Director Moses Pendleton's unique creation, ALICE, inspired by Alice in Wonderland, at Sunset Center!

As Alice's body grows and shrinks and grows again, Pendleton's dancers extend themselves by means of props, ropes, and each other.

"I don't intend to retell the whole Alice story," says Pendleton, "but to use it as a taking-off point for invention. I'm curious to see what will emerge, and I'm getting curiouser and curiouser the more I learn about Lewis Carroll." Pendleton continues, "I want to take this show into places we haven't been before in terms of the fusion of dancing, lighting, music, costumes, and projected imagery."

As with every MOMIX production, there's always a surprise in store. As Alice falls down the rabbit hole and is transformed, the audience will be too!

Sunset Cultural Center is proud to have these performers participate in our Classroom Connections program, bringing our featured Sunset Presents performers into local schools and bringing local students to the Sunset Center for a matinee performance, perhaps for the first time!
