All are invited to the annual Tor House Foundation open house celebrating Robinson Jeffers' poetry in the blooming springtime gardens! Tor House docents offer informed context to your visit inside this unique early 20th century cottage and tower, both built largely by the poet himself. Live music and gourmet refreshments complete the experience.
Visitors can:
* stroll the grounds,
* enjoy Tor House and Hawk Tower,
* ask questions of docents about the history of Tor House and about the poetry of Robinson Jeffers,
* climb the 40' Tower,
* photograph to their hearts' content,
* enjoy music (the bagpiper at the top of the tower, the pianists playing Una's 1904 Steinway Model O Grand Piano in the cottage, and Youth Music Monterey musicians in the east wing parlor)
* learn about the birds of Carmel Point (scope, binoculars and information provided by the Monterey Audubon Society), and
* enjoy delicacies from Sweet Elena's Bakery.
Tickets available at TorHouse.org or at the door. (Not suitable for children under 10)
