Longtime local author and feature journalist Lisa Crawford Watson has made a career out of teaching writing at the college and university levels, and in telling other people's tales for magazines, newspapers and books.
Having decided it was time to share her own story, she recognized that when one’s story is inextricably linked to someone else, it must be carefully considered. What We Wished For: An Adoption Story shares Watson's quest to build a loving family though adoption, believing, as a twin herself, she had the insight and compassion to mother abandoned baby twin girls. Her memoir is a tale of courage, perseverance, and what remains when things don’t go as hoped or imagined--plus what it takes to put such a story in print.
