Event Description:

Start 2026 off on the right foot by moving for a cause. Our 5K (3.1 mile) run and walk will take place on Saturday, January 10th, 2026 in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. Participants of all ages and abilities will take on a breathtaking coastal course that moves along Scenic Drive and ends at the bottom of Ocean Ave. The Carmel-by-the-Sea 5K is presented by Girls on the Run Central Coast, a nonprofit based in Monterey County that inspires girls in 3rd-8th grade to build confidence, strengthen connections, and celebrate their inner power through dynamic lessons and physical activity.

Course will begin at the intersection of San Carlos and 9th in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. Participants will head toward the coast by way of Carmel Mission. The return journey along Scenic Drive is relatively flat and fast. The event will be timed and USATF certified. Sand and sea reserved for post-race enjoyment. Bragging rights and perpetual award given to 1st place male & female finishers.
