Carmel Art Association Presents High School Competition and Exhibition

High school juniors and seniors have a rare opportunity to exhibit their work at the CAA in February in the annual “For the Love of Art” competition. This year 65 students from 16 Monterey County schools and arts organizations are participating.

The idea is for the students to experience what artists in the real world go through—creating art, submitting it to be juried in a competition, and then displayed in a professional gallery where it will be for sale.  Also, a calendar for the year 2021 will be professionally printed featuring images of the prize winners’ artworks.

Judges for the competition include Evelyn Klein—printmaker, painter, teacher and owner of Equinox Studios, and Carmel gallery owner Josh Hardy. A third juror will be announced.
